All Exile Skimboards are available in two different shape varieties. The Hybrid is the classic Exile shape that started it all. It was Exile's original set of shapes and set the skim world afire with performance qualities never before seen in skimboarding. The Pro Shape was developed over years of trial and error with the world's top skimboarders. It is the preference of most, but not all Exile Team riders as well as many advanced skimboarders world wide. Please note that all Pro Models are based off the Pro Shape, with subtle tweaks according to each rider's preference, as explained on the Pro Models page.

Our best selling shape is well suited for riders at any skill level. Hybrids are a little shorter than most boards with a slightly blunted nose (). This results in a board that sits comfortably in the pocket and makes it easy to wrap the wave. The increased nose area () also makes it possible to squeeze additional speed out of the board by pumping hard and leaning forward.

The Pro Shape is best suited to advanced riders who want maximum speed on the wave. The longer profile () and narrower nose () of these boards makes them faster down the line and on siders, but not as comfortable in the pocket of the wave. But since the riders knows what he's doing, he doesn't need any extra help riding the barrel.

The Dude! Cruise shape is our newest creation. The shape is meant to resemble a retro-fish, with wide surface area under your front foot(), pulled in with a wing, and completed with a swallow tail(). The swallow tail loosens the board so the rider is still able to maneuver, even though there is a large amount of surface area in the front of the board. This board planes well, and locks in down the line on waves. A great addition to the quiver, and a fun board for every type of wave. Note: It might be impossible to ride the Dude! Cruise without a smile on your face. When in doubt, Dude! Cruise...

  • By default our boards are made from 5/8" foam, with tapering in the nose and tail, resulting in a board with maximum manuverability and performance in good conditions.

    At no extra charge we can substitute 3/4" which provides additional float at the cost of maneuverability. This can be particularly useful in areas where the waves are often not very powerful.
