Wednesday, 21 July 2010 15:24The Outer Banks of North Carolina produce some of the best, most consistent skimboarding waves on the entire East Coast. This weekend was no exception, by Sunday competitors saw consistent waist high, glassy waves pushing through on an incoming swell and tide. Our Professionals dominated the contest, walking away with four of the top six positions breaking down like this:
Brad Domke- 2nd Place
Sam Stinnett- 4th Place
Austin Keen- 5th Place
Woody Harris- 6th Place
Our amateur's also faired very well. North Carolina local Perry Pruitt grabbed 3rd place in Jr. Men's. Here's a shot of Perry on a solid backside wrap.
In other AM news from the contest, Blair Conklin was able to not only take 1st place in Jr. Mens but also win the Semi Pro event. The Semi Pro division is basically a combination of all of the best amateur riders. This is quite the accomplishment for a West Coast rider to come and steal away the Semi Pro division on the East side of things. A big congratulations goes out to all of our team riders that competed. Here is a shot of why Blair is one of the best up and coming skimboarders in the world. A huge frontside spray, from a slash, and already back in position with speed looking straight down the line. Watch out world.
