Andy Chiavetta is a soul skimmer. After quitting competitive
skimboarding in the early 1990's he continued to consistently refine his
craft on his own boards. Some have said that he could have even been
a contender for world champion, but Andy is happier stealing the show in
the warm up area than he is jockeying for waves in a heat. His skimming is fast and aggressive. He prefers big straight waves to almost anything else and can't stand crowds cause he wants to ride all the waves. Hey, who can blame him? If I had that much energy i would want to ride all the waves too. Thankfully he has focused a lot of his energy into composite fabrication and besides being the co-founder of Exile builds race planes that continuously humble the competition. Hats off to a self made man who plays by his own rules.
